The bully boy task

Kudos where deserved and all 3 candidates do deserve it! Yes they made mistakes or fumbled slightly but over all they had composure and were articulate and honest when faced with the difficult questions. All 3 were so self assured going in and you need this to survive, I know how hard it is from experience. Ok Stephen’s self confessed love of himself whilst looking like he’s going to de-combust (the red neck) did get a bit embarrassing, Steve’s deep into space, nine facial impressions, was kind of creepy and Geraldine’s obsession with shoes was a tad inappropriate. Did she say “cheap as” or “cheap ass” when speaking with Gavin Duffy? But Overall fair play!
The interview which always stands out is Gavin Duffy as he is given the bully boy task and god he is good. He has a way of running rings around you, picking up on your every word and manipulating you into saying something you never would. Last year I managed to avoid wearing my CV by dodging it as he almost threw it at me. He is actually a pussy cat and a really nice man. He is given the job of pushing your buttons to see how you react under that scrutiny and personal attack. The clever man he is, managed to get Steve to open up about a complicated past. Alcoholism and gambling is not easy to admit and I have a new found respect for Steve. The production team contact every person you know to dig dirt and that skeleton was never going to be buried. Steve tackled the issue before Gavin had a chance so this way Steve had control and Gavin seemed to back down. I had an uneasy feeling about Steve in the past and felt there was more to him than meets the eye. I feel a bit guilty as now I realise it wasn’t that he was fake or had a game plan but obviously battling obstacles as being colour blind, dyslexic and dealing with addiction. He never used these as an excuse or for sympathy but kept it hidden, maybe to avoid special treatment. I wouldn’t patronise him with a sympathy vote but I think he did the best in the interviews and it was admirable how honest he was.
It will be battle of the pin stripes in this all male final! Definitely going to be testosterone fuelled because even when Bill fired Geraldine, there was no celebratory hand shake or smiles between Steve and Stephen, they didn’t even look happy. Brenda and I were smiling so much we nearly swallowed our ears! The game is on and you can tell they both will fight to the death.
Geraldine did well; I liked how she repeated the panellist names regularly throughout the interviews. This is renowned trick in interview techniques which is meant to help people warm to you, consciously and sub consciously. It is now obvious Bill is looking for a hardnosed individual to get the job done, whichever way! I would have preferred to see Geraldine in the final than Stephen. He still has that lazy persona and at one point I thought he was going to yawn mid interview. It still shocks me why people on the apprentice lie on their CV, of course you will get caught!! Did Stephen never watch a series of the Apprentice? He didn’t even seem embarrassed. He probably would have said he was Bill Cullen if he could and when asked his reply would be “that would be a fair assessment”. No shame.
My favourite of the night was Bill, he seemed different!? He smiled a lot and seemed to be on happy pills in “apprentice never ever land”. He referred to the three remaining as extraordinary on numerous occasions. Really Bill? They have all achieved a huge amount to get this far but I don’t think I would go as far as extraordinary. I’m not mad about Steve or Stephen but my money is on Steve!

I think the best person went last night my god Geraldine may have grown but she came across stupid last night on about her shoes etc and I cringed when she refered to Bill as “cute” and can anyone answer had Geraldine a few drinks last night or something before she appeared on your fired. She seems like someone who was well tipsy and did not come across well at all. Also why didnt Brendan ask anything about her and Aoiffe????
My money is on Steve to win. I have a new found respect for him after last night. As for Stephen could he be anymore cocky. God that guy just annoys me and to mention double jobbing to Bill Cullen!!!!! but defintely agree Nicky neither boys were happy to taking each on in the final.

Professional people are not interested in the cat fights instigated by Aoife to try to bring attention to herself and I’m sure that is why there was no mention as it is in no way relevant to what the show is about, which is finding Bill Cullen’s next apprentice. Geraldine has genuine charisma and it was far more pleasurable tv viewing to focus in on that last night. Aoife is already forgotten. Not sure if D4 people realise that the word “cute” also means sharp witted and shrewd.I would love to see English Steve win, he truly deserves it.

Does everyone realise that it is actually pre-destined that Steve R. will win the Apprentice? Just look at the line up of candidates on this site, it goes alphabetically from left to right and every single one has been fired apart from the final 2, the two Steves at the end of the line. So thats it, Steve R will win. Who knew it was that simple to figure out! Its nothing at all to do with the tasks…

Jackie whilst I agree with you that professional people are not interested in cat fights I do am not interested in them either and when I meant that there was no mention to the Cat Fights with Aoiffe I was of course referring to the Your Fired Show and Brendan OConnor the host not asking about it. Geraldine may have charisma but she defintely did not have the business ability to be the apprentice. In this day and age a business needs someone to hit the ground running and not a giddy schoolgirl who bitches on her other colleagues non stop and talk about her shoes. As for your reference about D4 people I am clearly not one of them nor never ever was I just thought it was a wrong term of phrase in an interview situation to describe your boss. So come off your high horse please.
Only think I agree with you is I do too hope Steve R wins he truly deserves it and is by far the best candidate.

oooh dear Katie, little bit touchy arent we! Maybe your horse is a little too tall for you my dear! You’ve just displayed how quickly females turn nasty on each other. As to your comments about Geraldine, you are so far off the mark you must be using another map. She did not bitch about her other colleagues at all and only answered a question put to her about her shoes. Now, I think its time for your saucer of milk! Meoooow!

Katie says:
Peter, My horse is no where near too tall from me and have not displayed how quick women fly off the handle. A typical male remark and you must be single. We were obiviously two different shows because yes Geraldine did bitch about her other colleagues in the interview stage and they must have been very little on her CV if the person conducting the interview even had to answer the question. I am major shoe queen highly qualified in my job and my CV speaks for itself and have never been reduced to answering such trival questions in an interview. So need for my saucer of milk at all I am not bitchy maybe you can do my saucer of milk. Right back at you. !!!!!!!

Sonya says:
Um, id be very surprised if youre not single yourself with a manner like that. Shoe queen? What the hell are you on about?Im sure we’d all love to hear your CV speaking instead of you. If youre that amazing why dont you apply for the Apprentice next year. Seems like Geraldine really does evoke a lot of jealousy from other women. Put your claws back in.

Just to clarify not single – married very happily with one child and have no intention of applying for the apprentice very happy in my job as Head of Finace and have a great life. Apologies!!!!
